The Problem

A homeowner experienced recurring flooding in their downstairs family room during heavy rain, with water accumulating 100-200mm deep. Multiple previous attempts by other contractors to resolve the issue had failed, leaving the family dealing with ongoing water damage and disruption.

The Assessment

Rather than simply trying to stop water from entering the house — the approach that had previously failed — Hygro Seepage Control identified the need to remove moisture from underground sources before it reached the property. The customer explained that the moisture causing the problem was coming from the left-hand side of the front yard, despite the flooding occurring at the back of the house.

The company predicted the water source would be between two and three metres below ground, moving atop a rock layer beneath the property.

The Installation

Workers discovered groundwater exactly at the predicted depth of 2 metres, resting on rock as expected. They excavated deeper to 2.5 metres and installed the system. The installation revealed a large amount of water that had been lying under the house — a substantial underground reservoir that had been the source of the recurring flooding.

The Result

The system is now keeping the home completely dry. No water ingress has occurred following subsequent heavy rainfall events. The homeowner was relieved after years of failed attempts by other contractors, finally having a permanent solution to the flooding problem.

"The system is now keeping our home dry. We would happily recommend the Hygro Seepage Control system to anyone who has problems with ground water affecting their home."
